BAU: A book depicting the achievement of women in Bau District in various fields will be published soon.

According to Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Jinep, the book is in recognition of the achievements of the women in the district.

Although he did not say when the book would be published, he had instructed the district officer to speed up its publication.

“Here in Bau, the are many women who have excelled in their respective fields, so as a sign of recognition, a book in the form of pictorial will be published,” he said at the closing of ‘Mega Wisma Wanita’ Training Centre (WWTC) Bau Zone, at Bau Civic Centre on Saturday.

Among the prominent achievements of women in Bau is that of Olympian Pandelela Rinong Pamg.

Henry also pointed out that activities to increase socio-economy for the people in Bau would be intensified in order to open up business opportunity for the people.

He cited the last Gawai sale as a good example, where a stall could earn RM27,000 in nine days.

“When we talk about increasing the socio-economy of the people, I’m not only talking about Tasik Biru constituency, but Bau as a whole because we want the people to live in peace and harmony,” he pointed out.

He thanked Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, who allocated RM20,000 for women in Bau to celebrate Women’s Day.

Among those present at the event was Bau District officer Anielia Siam.
